OnePlus announced its new OnePlus 7T smartphone and OnePlus TV yesterday. The new TV lineup runs on Google’s Android TV platform, along with some software from OnePlus. The best thing is, this is one of the India-first products.

The OnePlus TV features a QLED display measuring 55 inches. To make the pictures look more vivid and brighter, OnePlus has added a layer of quantum dots in between the front LCD panel and the back LED panel. With this improvement in place, users will have an even better picture quality than Sony and Samsung. For now, we have no idea if the company intends to launch other screen sizes in India.

Users of this TV do not have to search for a particular show and browse different apps anymore because everything is now in one place. Users of OnePlus TV also have a companion app called OnePlus Connect to integrate the TV with smartphones. With this app, you can control the TV from your smartphone as well as make use of Google Assistant. All features of the TV can be controlled through the app, you can even treat the phone as a keyboard for the TV as well. The app can also connect to OxygenPlay. Other functions include taking screenshots and browse through a list of apps on the TV.

Here is what we know so far about the sounds of OnePlus TV. It supports Dolby Atmos, a total of eight speakers and 50W of power. The best parts are this quality is higher than most of what you can expect to find on the market, and the set of speakers will point toward you. In these eight speakers, there are six facing forward and two woofers at the back for improvement of bass. When you turn the TV on, the soundbars will slide down from the back, as you can see from the GIF below.

On the rear, OnePlus TV has a clean finish. The door you see is for hiding all the ports but it also has holes so that the cables can come out. The fact that the door is magnetic ensures that it will stay durable over years of use.

Users have the choice to acquire the OnePlus TV in two variants, which are the standard and Pro version. The only difference here is that the speakers are retractable or not. As you may have guessed, this cool feature is only available for the latter with a higher price tag. While the speakers are the same for both variants, those of the standard one will not drop down so that they will face forward.

The OnePlus TV Q1 will be available in India with a starting price of Rs. 69,900 (around $985 USD). The more advanced version, which is OnePlus TV Q1 Pro has the price of Rs. 99,900 (around $1,400 USD). Here is what OnePlus announced on its Twitter:
