You may remember iPod Touch, a device we last heard of in 2015. And after a few years of being forgotten, Apple has decided to give it an upgrade. There will not be any change on the outside, but on the inside, there are some differences.
This is the seventh generation of this device, and it runs on Apple A10 Fusion chip, a feature it shares with iPhone 7. The improvement means that the latest generation will be a big leap in comparison with the one before it. iPod Touch can now support ARKit augmented reality apps, and Group FaceTime calls. Apple said that the device comes with 2X CPU speed and 3X GPU speed compared with it, predecessor.
Besides the chip, storage is another feature that gets enhancement. Users can now have a maximum of 265 GB on the device. One of the key selling points of iPod Touch is the Apple Arcade gaming subscription service, as announced by Apple.
These are the differences can enhancements users may have with the new iPod Touch. The rest of the design is similar to what you can find on the previous versions, like top bezels, large bottom, 4-inch Retina display, home buttons, as well as front and rear cameras.
According to Greg Joswiak, Apple's VP of iOS, iPad, and iPhone Product Marketing, the weight of iPod Touch makes it perfect for playing games and enjoying music on the go.
In India, Apple iPod Touch will set you back Rs 18,900 for the 32 GB version. The 2015 32 GB variant of the iPod Touch has the price tag of Rs 17,000. If you want more storage, the 128 GB variant is priced at Rs 28,900 while for the 256 GB version, one will have to pay Rs 38,900.
Apple stopped selling iPod Nano and the Shuffle in 2017, so iPod Touch is the only device left under the brand name iPod.
