iPad Pro 2020's Magic Keyboard Alone Is As Expensive As A Laptop

iPad Pro 2020's Magic Keyboard Alone Is As Expensive As A Laptop

The Magic Keyboard of iPad Pro 2020 brings several interesting features, but it also comes with a price that makes people startled.

Yesterday, Apple launched the iPad Pro 2020 with a more powerful A12Z Bionic chip, upgraded camera system with an ultra-wide-angle camera, LiDAR scanner ... However, the upgrade attracted a lot of attention is actually not in the iPad itself but in its keyboard accessories.

Alongside the iPad Pro 2020, Apple launched the Magic Keyboard with a lot of new features compared to the Smart Keyboard Folio. In particular, the most outstanding point is that this keyboard comes with a trackpad, which helps users to use it more comfortably.

New Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro has a built-in trackpad.

In addition, the Magic Keyboard also provides improved typing experience, backlit support, an additional USB-C port, and “smooth angle adjustment”.

However, to get those features of Magic Keyboard, users will also have to spend a whopping amount for a ‘smart’ keyboard: Rs. 27,900 for the 11-inch iPad Pro 2020 and Rs. 31,900 for the 12.9-inch model.

At this price, the Magic Keyboard is probably the most expensive accessory for a tablet we've ever seen. Comparatively, the Surface Pro's Type Cover also has a trackpad but costs only from Rs. 10,400 to Rs. 12,600.

The Surface Pro's Type Cover also has a trackpad, but the price is less than half that of the Magic Keyboard.

The money spending on a Magic Keyboard actually is enough to purchase a new 10.2-inch iPad or you can even get a decent Windows laptop for around Rs. 30,000 with a built-in keyboard and trackpad of course.

With the amount of Magic Keyboard, users can own a cheap iPad ...

... or even a real laptop, like this HP 14 for example.

Apple is advertising the iPad Pro as a true replacement device for laptops. However, when looking at the price of accessories that help it reach laptop-like experience like the Magic Keyboard, perhaps most users will feel hesitant, especially when all laptops on the market have a built-in "Magic Keyboard" they don't need to pay extra money. Plus the limitations of the connection port or the operating system, iPad Pro is still not enough to replace the computer, although now it looks very much like a computer.

Magic Keyboard price: around Rs. 22,500 (11-inch model) to Rs. 26,200 (12.9-inch model)

Magic Keyboard price in India: Rs. 27,900 (11-inch model) to Rs. 31,000 (12.9-inch model)
