If the recent leaks are to be believed, Huawei is working on its next tablet as we speak. This time, the Chinese tech giant is after something new, differentiating the device from any other offer on the market. What we are talking about punch-hole notch from where the selfie camera pokes.
According to some sources, the device is the Huawei MediaPad M7, or as Huawei internally calls it, Marx. For now, we know that the tablet will have two colors, Silver and Blue.
The selfie camera will be on the side of the front, while there is a dual-camera setup on the back. The Huawei MediaPad M7 will have support for the M-Pen, Huawei’s stylus.
In comparison with its predecessor, the Huawei MediaPad M6, the upcoming tablet will have thinner bezels and an in-display finger display. We have not heard anything on the audio jack, so it is unclear at the moment if we will see the departure of it.
So far, no leak has mentioned anything on the specs, but our best guess is the MediaPad M7 will feature at least the Kirin 990 processor. The closest big event is the 2020’s MWC in February, so it is likely that the tablet will be launched then.
Given the ongoing tension between China and the U.S, the biggest question now is which software the tablet will feature. It is possible that the device will be powered by the version of Android that has little connection to Google, much like the Huawei Mate 30.
From now to next year’s February, a lot can change. The U.S may decide to lift part of the restriction so that Huawei can have access to Android.
We can use some more options on premium Android tablets, apart from Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S6, so let’s hope for the best.
