Huawei Finally Unveils Watch GT Smartwatch In India

Chinese tech company, Huawei introduced its Watch GT in last October, along with the launch of the Huawei Mate 20 smartphone lineup. Recently, it has finally unveiled its new Watch GT in the Indian market on March 12.

The latest Watch GT Classic edition costs Rs. 16,990 while the Sports edition costs Rs. 15,990. The wearable product goes on sales via Amazon.in from 19 March.

The device has a 1.39-inch 454x454 pixel OLED touch display. Additionally, it has a round dial of 46.5mm and a body made of stainless steel, which comes in two kinds of finishes including black and metal options. Also, the watch features straps which can be changed. Huawei also equips the Watch GT with water resistance feature of up to 50 meters.

In the software department, the watch runs on LightOS. We need to wait for a period to see whether the OS of Huawei is better than the WearOS of Google or not. However, Huawei claims that its watch can offer an up-to-2-week battery life.  This means that with only one charge, users can use the watch in 2 weeks, and it will take approximately 2 hours to fully charge the watch.

Furthermore, the wearable device is equipped with various fitness-focused features like sleep-tracking, continuous heart-rate monitoring, etc. Also, the watch is integrated with GPS and advanced technologies such as TruSleep 2.0 and TruSeen 3.0 for monitoring heart rate to offer users exact measurements.

Besides the fitness-centric features, users indeed receive standard smartwatch features such as the capability to check alarm, reminder, call, and message notifications. Other features of the Watch GT include a gyroscope, ambient light sensor, magnetometer, and an accelerometer, etc.

The Huawei Watch GT’s connectivity options include NFC and Bluetooth v4.2, but Wifi. Furthermore, the watch is equipped with 16MB RAM and 128MB storage, which can work well with phones running operating systems from iOS 9.0 or Android 4.4 and later.
