Hole-punch displays are becoming more popular with smartphones than ever before. And this trend is also being captured by Huawei. The company recently launched the world's first and latest tablet to date with a punch-hole display, named MediaPad Pro. The tablet has a notch, which is a small cut button at the top left of the screen.
Currently, the new tablet is being introduced in the Chinese domestic market with a starting price of 3299 Yuan (or Rs 33,643). There is no information on when the tablet will be launched internationally.
The tablet has a 10.8-inch LCD bezel-free screen, measuring 1600 x 2560. The screen-to-body ratio is 90%. There is a notch that is cutout on the left where there is an 8MP selfie camera. In terms of performance, it is equipped with a Kirin 990 processor, paired with 6GB or 8GB RAM, as well as an internal memory of up to 512GB. Behind the device, there is a 13MP camera used for taking photos and record videos.
The device is powered by a 7250mAh battery with a 40W fast charge, and four speakers simultaneously. Unlike Apple iPad Pro, users will own more wireless reverse charging feature on MediaPad Pro. In addition, there is a stylus and an optional keyboard case for their usage.
In theory, it seems that MediaPad Pro is a Huawei-class device. But just like its flagships MatePad Pro and Mate 30 Pro, the tablet doesn't have Google's core apps and services, which makes it less appealing to consumers, especially in the context that Huawei is under strong sanction from the US, and therefore the company is not allowed to access Google services and applications.
