May 2019 saw MacBook Pro, Apple’s high-end model, getting some refreshes. Now, the MacBook Air and the base model of MacBook Pro are in for some upgrades too.

The basic configuration of the MacBook Pro has got no attention from Apple for almost two years, and now, it is the one that has the most updates, including a new Intel processor, a Touch ID, and a Touch Bar. In the place of the old dual-core 7th Gen Core i5 chipset ticking at 2.3GHz is now the 1.4GHz quad-core 8th Gen Core i5 chip. However, this upgrade does not solve the device’s biggest flaw, which are the mere two USB-C ports instead of four.

Along with the MacBook Pro base model, the slimmer MacBook Air also gets an upgrade. It now has Apple’s True Tone technology, which will adjust the display automatically according to the ambient light so that the images appear more natural. Other than that, everything else about the MacBook Air remains the same, including the dual-core 8th Gen i5 chips of Intel.

In India, there is a price slash for MacBook Air, along with a discount for students. The device is available at Rs 99,900, and students can have it at the price of Rs 92,704.

With the recent issues with the butterfly keyboard, the one Apple has been making use of for the past couple of years; the company has updated it with Apple Pro’s May refresh. The keyboard is said to have a few tweaks and will be available on the MacBook Air and the MacBook Escape (the original name of the base model of MacBook Pro).

For now, we have no idea how the new keyboard will perform. So you might have to stay tuned until more users have the chance to experience it to find out if it has a similar problem with the original keyboard.
