Amazon’s Echo Frames has the same appearance as a normal pair of glasses. However, the glasses allow you to take Alexa to wherever you go. Up until now, Alexa is only integrated on devices like smart speakers instead of smartphones.

However, according to Amazon, at the moment, Echo Frames still belong to what the company calls “Day One editions,” which means the device isn’t ready to be released on the market yet. Only those who receive invitations from Amazon can buy the glasses at a price of $179.99.

Unlike Google Glass or Snapchat Spectacles, Amazon’s smart glasses don’t have any camera. However, it will come with features like connecting with smartphones to read notifications, make phone calls, or play music.

The speakers of the glasses are designed to not recognize anyone’s voice except the owner’s. Echo Frames has a weight of 31gr and can be fitted with prescription lenses.

A video from Amazon suggests that swipe gestures are available. At the moment, there is no official release date. And Amazon also didn’t announce how long the glasses last with one charge.
