Wireless charging is all the rage these days in the phone making industry. All of the top phone makers like Samsung and Apple had already built the Qi charging hardware to their phones along with a couple of improvements. And most phone makers are also trying to catch up to the trend.
We don’t blame them for trying to introduce wireless charging to their devices, consumers love them for the convenience. Just place your phone on a Qi charging mat and there’s power out of literally nowhere charging your phone.
Despite the convenience, however, there are two undeniable things about them that might give you pause: They clutter your desk, and they’re not very attractive. But the current wireless charging design has evolved and now they’re a bit more aesthetically pleasing than the originals and for some, even more functional. You now have desk lamps, Bluetooth speakers, and alarm clocks capable of wirelessly charging your phone.
If you’re interested, here are some suggestions you might want to look into.
Topelek Wireless Charging Alarm Clock
Price: $34
Most of us have relegated the task of setting off the daily alarms to our phones. But for those who still prefer the classic alarm clock, there are some on the market right now that also have wireless charging pads integrated into their designs.
The Topelek alarm clock looks great with the futuristic and sleek design. Furthermore, the charging pad is built to the bottom of the clock, which makes the morning fumbling for your phone a little bit more easier. You might want to avoid alarm clocks with the classic, rectangular slab design with the charging pad built to the top. Trust me, you’re less likely to hit what you need to and more accidentally grazing a button you didn’t mean to press.
TaoTronics LED Desk Lamp with Fast Wireless Charger
Price: $32
If you have a deck that you do most of your work from, you might have a desk lamp. Even if you don’t, it’s never too late to get one. This LED desk lamp is at the fore-front technologically wise, having all of the techs you can possibly fit into a lamp. You can use the touch control to adjust the five lighting modes available. There’s a USB port for wired charging, and of course, a 7.5-watt wireless charging pad.
Zofine Wireless Charging Mouse Pad
Price: $18
If you have a desktop setup at home and use a mouse, you might love this wireless charging integrated mouse pad. Especially for those who keep their phones in arm’s reach, there’s no reason to make it harder for yourself. You can just place your phone right next to you and forget about it entirely.
Though if you want to use the wireless charger, you still have to plug a USB-C cable to the charging mat for it to work. You can either plug it into your laptop, or you need to buy for yourself a new AC adapter entirely.
I-star Portable Smart Table with Bluetooth Speaker and Wireless Charging
Price: $220
Since most of us probably use our phones in bed while at home and leave the phone to charge on our end table while we sleep, it’s not a bad idea to have an end table with wireless charging. And that’s exactly what this is: A tech-packed end table with not only wireless charging covering the top, but also act as a Bluetooth speaker. There are also USB ports for the wired fanatics.
This end table has a 6,600 mAh rechargeable battery inside that’s good for about seven hours of pure music playback. Though if you decide to charge your phone while it’s unplugged, the number would obviously be less.
Censhi Wireless Charger and Bluetooth Speaker
Price: $59
Back in the days when smartphones were just starting out, there was the ‘speaker dock’ trend. The idea is that aside from a speaker, you also have a slot to put your phone into for charging. That’s exactly what this is all about, though there are no connectors for you to mind as it is Qi-supported and surely no power cables for your Bluetooth speaker. Though it has a pretty sporty look and got NFC pairing for you to instantly hook your phone’s music to it, it’s not very portable.
Kedron Portable Power Bank 24,000-mAh
Price: $34
The point of the power bank is to provide power on the go, so there’s no surprise that eventually they would also tackle the wireless charging. Aside from the plentiful energy reserve, it also has an LED status display and also four different USB out ports for you to charge simultaneously four devices at once. Though I don’t really recommend doing that since it can get pretty hot.
Twelve South PowerPic Picture Frame Stand with Integrated Qi Charger
Price: $80
Now, this may sound pretty silly but you can’t really find a wireless charger that can fit better on your desk than this. The charger is disguised in the form of a normal 5x7-inch picture frame. But when you place your supported phone into the frame, it will instantly be charged with a 10-watt current by the coils hidden inside the frame.
You can put a picture of your beloved into the frame and no one would even realize that that is a wireless charger. Though the design is a bit weird since you technically block the picture with your phone when you put it inside to charge. No matter, that’s not exactly a big problem.
