While scientists and researchers around the world are working night and day to develop a cure or a vaccine for the coronavirus, a US university is taking a different approach to join the global fight.

The University of Washington has created a new puzzle game that challenges scientists as well as the public to build a protein to block COVID-19 from infiltrating human cells. The game is currently on Foldit, a website designed for crowdsourcing contributions to important protein research from over 2 lakh registered players.
The most promising ideas created from the game will undergo tests and could be manufactured by the Institue for Protein Design of the University of Washington in Seattle, US.
Officially called COVID-19, or Coronavirus disease 2019, the epidemic has spread to every part of the world. The coronavirus has infected over 95,000 people while killing over 3,200 people worldwide. The symptoms of COVID-19 infection are coughing, fever, as well as shortness of breath on a much more serious level than seen in a cold.

Since its outbreak, the coronavirus has affected all aspects of our lives. Schools have been closed, factories and offices in China have been shuttered, big events have been canceled, all to avoid create large crowds in attempts to limit the spread of the epidemic. India has confirmed the 28th infected case while Amazon Web Services has to cancel its AWS Mumbai summit that was supposed to take place early next month.
