Two White Hackers Succeeded In Hacking A Tesla Car And Got Rs 2.6 Crores

What these two white hackers did seemed unbelievable to most of us, especially to Tesla’s developers.

It must be crazy if you have a chance to show all your skills as a thief but don’t care whether cops can catch you or not. And Pwn2own is exactly such a chance!

The global event called Pwn2own is held by brilliant white hackers as a playground for them to look for every possible vulnerability in the renowned gadgets, services, and electronics.

At the event of this year, two guys formed a team called Team Fluoroacetate succeeded in hacking a Tesla car – the Model 3 – by attacking its high-security web browser.

What these two white hackers did seemed unbelievable to most of us, especially to Tesla’s developers. And of course, they completely deserved an excellent reward from the event organizers: A Tesla car!

The names of the Team Fluoroacetate’s members are Richard Zhu and Amat Cama. They made use of the infotainment system integrated into the Model 3, which is enabled via the web, to take over the car.

However, it’s not all that the couple did to beat over other heavy opponents. They didn’t just hack the Tesla car but they also managed to hack Safari browser within only four minutes. Rs 2.6 crores was the total money they received after becoming the final winners. The total cash of the prize worth Rs 3.8 crores.
