5 Electric Cars Most Likely To Become Tesla's Competitors

Let's take a look at the top 5 electric car manufacturers that might be able to keep up with the pioneering electric-car maker Tesla.

Tesla has consistently been ahead in the race on electric vehicles, but there are other strong contenders who can take over its dominant role in the world EVs market. These automakers are expected to make electric cars with excellent performance, high-quality technology integrated, user-friendly and more, but at a very reasonable price.
Here are top 5 automakers will challenge Tesla in the coming years.

1.The Volkswagen MEB Entry

The Volkswagen MEB Entry is a great electric car with strong performance specifications at a reasonable price. Compared to Tesla's Model 3 which is the brand's cheapest EVs to date for roughly 32,8 lakh (nearly $46,000), the Volkswagen MEB Entry has a much more affordable price level for the majority of Indian for approximately 16,4 lakh (roughly $23,0000).

While the MEB Entry is considered as an outstanding candidate on the Tesla competitors' list, everything has its price. At the higher prices, Tesla's Model 3 offers 260 miles of range for the standard version and 310 miles for the upgraded one. And the question is, will the ultra-low price point of the MEB Entry might affect the maximum distance this car would travel on one charge?

2.The Byton M-Byte

Recently, the China-based electric car startup named Byton revealed its M-Byte electric SUV in the CES this year. The SUV offers an optional 95 kWh battery with which the vehicle can travel up to 325 miles between charges. The M-Byte features the world's largest display ever equipped on a car with the width of the touchscreen as large as the size of 7 iPads. Additionally, the EVs also featured an 8-inch screen located on the steering wheel for the car's operation. Moreover, M-byte is also integrated with the powerful smart voice assistant, Amazon Alexa.

Undoubtedly, Tesla should watch out for this competitor as M-Byte is equipped with as great specifications as Tesla's EVs model but at a more affordable price. However, with so many video screens equipped, somehow it can make drivers more distracted.

3.The Polestar 2

While there is not much information about the car, Polestar 2 is still believed to be a direct competitor to Tesla's Model 3. Under the brand of Volvo, the electric vehicle is expected to offer great specifications.

Reportedly, the Polestar can travel around 300 miles on a single charge and comes with a fastback design with a four-door body. Noticeably, Polestar 2 will also be the first all-electric car to run Google's native version of Android Auto.

The car will also come with an attractive subscription plan including maintenance, roadside assistance, and insurance during the term of two or three years. Significantly, the Polestar 2 also offers the ability to trade in for a newer model or return the car after the subscription plan ended. The car is also expected to cost as much as the Tesla Model 3 price range.

Altogether, there is nothing against this electric car to have a slot on Tesla's competitor list.

4.Great Wall Motor's 2019 Ora R1

Ora R1 Worlds Cheapest Electric Car Electric Cars

Great Wall Motors, a China-based company, has recently launched its new electric vehicle named ORA R1. With the prices range from Rs 603,757 ($8680) to Rs 785,591 ($11,293), the car is the cheapest electric car in the world to date. In addition to having an affordable price, Ora R1 also has a compact design which can easily deal with the daily commute. Additionally, the electric car is also equipped with an intelligence system with which owners can wake up the car by simply saying "Hello, Ora."

The only unfortunate thing is that the car will be initially available only in the local market as well as several markets such as the UK, Australia, and others in Europe. And there is no information of if the car will be made available in the Indian market.

However, regarding what it can offer, Ora R1 absolutely deserves a spot on any Tesla competitors' list.

5.The BMW Vision iNEXT

With the aim of releasing its own electric car in the coming years, BMW is said to start the production of its BMW Vision iNEXT electric car at some point in 2021. The car is expected to come with high-tech features such as full-on autonomous driving on roads or an AI-driven system which is integrated out of sight

In the context where Tesla pulled its popular option of "full self-driving package" and asked users to pay an extra cost of nearly 2,14 lakh ($3000) to continue using the service, BMW Vision iNEXT seemingly is one of the best alternative choices for consumers.
