7. Officers Training Academy

Location: Chennai
Established: 1963
From 1942 to 1945, to meet the massive demand for officers to serve in the Indian and Commonwealth Armies during WWII, a total of seven Officers Training Schools were built in India. However, they were later closed at the end of the war.
In 1962, India wanted to increase the number of officers for operations, following the Sino-Indian War. And that was the reason why the Officers Training Schools in Madras (now known as Chennai) was established. Its main operation was training officers for Emergency Commissions into the Army until it was shifted to training officers for the Short Service Regular Commission. The facility is spread more than 750 acres.
In 1985, it was granted permanent status and later renamed to Officers Training Academy on 1 Jan 1988.
8. Counter Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School
Location: Vairengte, Mizoram
Established: 1970

The Counter-Insurgency and Jungle Warfare School is established for the Indian Army training. It specializes in unconventional warfare, especially guerrilla warfare and counter-insurgency. Not just in India, the establishment is also one of the world's best institutions in counter-insurgency training.
9. College of Defence Management

Location: Secunderabad
Established: 1970
The College of Defence Management is a top tri-Service institution for management training for officers of the Defence Service. The institute is sponsored by the Ministry of Defence, that provides management and scientific education to the Indian Armed Force officers. It is also considered as the sole college in Asia for training defence management to the Armed Forces.
10. Army War College

Location: Mhow, Madhya Pradesh
Established: 1971
It was first established on 1 April 1971 in Mhow with the name 'College of Combat'. The school still operated from the Infantry School's campus until 1988, when it moved to a new campus. In 2003, it was renamed to the Army War College, Mhow.
The college is a research institution and tactical training of the Indian Army, which develops & evaluates concepts as well as doctrines for logistics and tactics for the Indian Army.
11. Army School of Physical Training

Location: Pune
Established: 1978
The Army School of Physical Training is a defence training establishment of the Indian Army, which delivers physical as well as allied sports training courses for officers of the Indian Army, Paramilitary forces, Central Police Organisation, and even personnel from other countries.
12. Army Air Defence College

Location: Gopalpur, Odisha
Established: 1989
The Army Air Defence College is a training academy of the Army Air Defence Corps. It spreads in an area of more than 2700 acres. Its main objective is imparting operational and technical knowledge to the Indian Army's personnel. The school also trains personnel from the air force, navy, and officers from other countries as well.
13. Officers Training Academy

Location: Gaya
Established: 2011
Established in an area of around 870 acres in Gaya, the Officers Training Academy in Gaya is responsible for training Gentlemen Cadets to be a part of the commissioned officer corps of the Indian Army. The establishment is equipped with the top art training facilities, just like other pre-commissioning training institutions.
14. Indian National Defence University

Location: Gurgaon, Haryana
Established: 2013
The Indian National Defence University is a university of the Defence Ministry. The establishment is currently under construction and is expected to be functional by next year.
Its main objectives are:
1. Developing high-level leadership of officers for policy formulation responsibilities and military duties
2. Promote research-oriented national defence policy
3. Think tanks for providing military policy formulations inputs
4. Develop as well as propagate higher education in defence studies like defence science & technology and defence management.
