In 2018, $48.4 million was paid for the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO. When new, these cars could be bought at the price of $18,000, which was still quite of an investment.
2. Ferrari 250 GTO Sold In 2014

Price: $38 Million
Another Ferrari 250 GTO was sold for $38 million back in 2014. It seems like another owner got a fine profit from their original investment.
3. Ferrari 335S
Auction House: Artcurial
Price: $35.7 Million
$35.7 million is the money that the winning bidder paid for a Ferrari 335S which was a sports racing car manufactured between 1957 and 1958.
4. Stirling Moss’ Mercedes-Benz W196
Auction House: Bonhams
Price: $29.6 Million
A Mercedes-Benz W196 was sold for $29.6 million back in 2013. The car was an F1 racing car which was manufactured between 1954 and 1955. This car won around 9 to 12 races and was driven by racing greats such as Stirling Moss and Juan Manuel Fangio.
5. A Ferrari 290 MM

Price: $28 Million
In 2015, a Ferrari 290 MM was sold for $28 million. This car was driven by Juan Manuel Fangio which won the 4th place in the 156 Mille Miglia race.
6. A Ferrari 275 GTB/4*S NART Spider

Price: $27.5 Million
In 2013, a Ferrari 275 was sold for $27.5 million. The car was manufactured between 1964 and 1968 in a 2-door spider body styles or 2-door coupe.
7. A Ferrari 275 GTB/C Speciale

Price: $26.4 Million
$26.4 million was paid for the 1964 Ferrari 275 GTB/C Speciale which only had four examples ever been built. And Mauro Forghieri oversaw the manufacturing himself.
8. Aston Martin DBR1

Price: $22.5 Million
In 2017, a winning bidder paid a hefty sum of $22.5 million for an Aston Martin DBR1 which was a sports racing car. The vehicle was built by Aston Martin and is known for its win in the 1959 24 Hours Le Mans. Many racing legends have driven the car, which includes Tony Brooks, Stirling Moss, and many more.
9. A Duesenberg SSJ

Price: $22 Million
In 2018, a Duesenberg SSJ was brought with a price of $22 million. Only two Duesenberg SSJ were built and both of them came with lightweight open-roadster bodies.
10. A Jaguar D-Type
Auction House: RM Sotherby’s
Price: $21.8 million
This Jaguar D-Type was made specifically for the Le Mans 24-hour race. The car was manufactured between 1954 and 1957. And in 2018, one of the 90 cars ever built was sold for about $22 million.
