1. Yasha Asley

The first name on our list of math prodigies is Yasha Asley. Yasha was born on Jan 1st, 2003 as an Iranian descent in Leicester, UK. At the age of ten, he passed A level test with a top grade for the third time. He also got an A+ for Statistics. When Yasha was eight, he got an A in Pure Maths and A+ in Maths. He’s the world’s youngest person to have scored an A in Maths with 100% and 99% in two out of six papers.

After completed primary school, Yasha went to attending university.

Currently, Yasha is working for the University of Leicester as the youngest professor in the world.

2. Cameron Thompson

Cameron Thompson is a math genius from North Wales. At the age of four, he corrected his teacher when she said that the lowest number was zero, saying there were negative numbers as well. When he was 11, he began studying at the Open University majoring in Mathematics. At that same year, he successfully passed GCE Advanced Level Maths and GCSEs in Maths with high scores. He was even featured in a show called “The Growing Pains of a Teenage Genius” from the BBC. Due to his Asperger Syndrome, he struggles in his studies. But undoubtedly, Thompson has a distinctive talent in Maths.

3. Jacob Barnett

Jacob Barnett is an American maths genius. The doctor diagnosed him with severe autism when he was only two years old. He was said not to be able to read, talk, or do all the basic tasks by himself. He proved the doctor wrong as at the age of three; he could recite the alphabet both forwards and backward. At that same year, during a trip to a planetarium, he answered the question of a presenter about why the moons of Mars have odd shapes. When Jacob was ten, he attended Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. While studying for his degrees, he declared that one day he might refute the Theory of Relativity from Einstein. At the moment, he is getting his Ph.D. degree, majoring in Quantum Physics.

4. March Tian Boedihardjo

The next name on our list of math prodigies lives in Hong Kong. He is the youngest person to study at Hong Kong university when he was only nine years old. He completed his A-levels, got As in Mathematics and Further Mathematics. He also earned eight GCSEs. He participated in a tailored double-degree program the university created for him which he completed in 2011, earning him a bachelor's degree in Mathematical Science and a master's degree in Mathematics Philosophy. After graduation, he criticized his classes for being too easy. He is now working as an associate professor at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles).

5. Priyanshi Somani

The Indian-born girl is considered as a mental calculator. She began mental calculation when she was six. At the age of 11, she became the Mental Calculation World Cup of 2010’s youngest participant. She later won the contest, beating 36 other contestants from 16 countries. She successfully solved the square root of numbers with ten six-digit numbers in a record 6 minutes 51 seconds. For the first time ever, among all participants, she was the only one to have an accuracy rate of 100% in multiplication, square roots, and addition.

In January 2012, she became the new mental square roots world-record holder when in just 2 minutes 43 seconds, she calculated ten six-digit numbers’ square root.

6. Jaxon Cota

The last kid on our list of math prodigies is Jason Cota. Jaxon was born on Oct 28th, 2004. He lives with his parents and one sister in McKinney, Texas. When he was nine, he became a Mensa member, which is a society for people having high IQ scores. Cota scores 148 for his IQ test, which is in the top 2% of the world. Cota’s hobbies also include baseball. He was named as one of the top 11 players of the country as an outfielder and shortstop. Despite being qualified to skip several grades and even enroll in a university, Jaxon wants to live like a normal kid and do what he loves like hanging out with friends and playing baseball. Jackson loses his hearing capability in both ears. But that doesn’t stop him from being a part of the honor choir at his school. For two years, he was a member of the student council.
