Tinder Passport Enables Users To 'Visit' Others Amid COVID-19 Isolation

An upcoming update will be sent to both iOS and Android users around March 26, in which they can find the new Tinder Passport feature.

The World Health Organization has declared the pandemic emergency and every country is taking its own medical measures to prevent the widespread COVID-19 virus from expanding its scope. People, therefore, are encouraged (or forced) to stay at home when governments have already released instructions for self-quarantine to avoid the risks from others. However, the lockdown status isn't meant to become a big problem for Tinder because the dating app already came up with its own solution.

“Passport” allows every user to reset his current location to any other places without having to really relocate there.

In particular, Tinder has started a new feature named “Passport” that allows every user to reset his current location to any other places without having to really relocate there. Till now, the feature is made available for free but this will end on April 30. In addition, Passport is exclusively limited to Gold subscription users and Tinder Plus users as well. An upcoming update will be sent to both iOS and Android users around March 26, in which they can find the new Passport feature.

In a nutshell, the feature enables users to explore a series of new cities virtually via their location settings. By typing the name of a city or pinning it on the map, users can find it in a matter of seconds and continue using the app naturally without any hassle after the change. With the new feature, the company aims to help people have conversations with others who are also in boring isolation.

To activate Passport, users need to tap on the profile icon, choose the settings menu and then click on the location option. Tinder sets no limitation at all, so users can take advantage of the feature to customize their location several times.
