Iron Man is one of the characters in the Marvel Universe who are loved by many people. Many cosmic junkies, techies, and cosplayers have an admiration for his armor. Over time, we have seen many people attempting to replicate the suit. Most of them try to get the right proportions. Some try to get the tech right. But nothing can beat this Iron Man suit that is taking the internet by storm.
Adam Savage, the former co-host of “MythBusters” show just showed off a titanium Iron Man suit which was 3D printed. And it looks incredible. The better part if here is that it can actually fly, just like the fictional model of Tony Stark.
The jetpack installed at the back of the suit is the product of Richard Browning’s UK-based startup Gravity Industries. The jetpack powered by five 1,000 horsepower mini jet engines. You need to check out the video below to believe it:
For flying lessons, Savage and Browning met in a giant air hangar located somewhere in the east of San Francisco. In the premiere of “Savage Builds”, Savage’s new Discovery Channel series, while Savage is still cautious when turning the engine to 11, Browning has no problem zipping up to almost 15 feet.
In an interview with CNET, Savage said:
The idea came after Savage had a visit to the Colorado School of Mines where there are titanium 3D printers big enough for the printing of a bulletproof Iron Man suit.
Future episodes of the series will show the building of three “Mad Max”-style car as well as a huge, rocket-propelled cart that is similar to one designed during World War II by the British Army.
