With the rising number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in India, people are trying their best to maintain personal hygiene. They are recommended to wash their hands regularly and stop touching their face or nose.
Faucets are known to have a bunch of germs. It is meaningless to wash your hand and then touch the faucet again. And it seems to be a never-ending cycle.
Of course, there are faucets with sensors that get rid of the physical touch. But these faucets require electricity. And there are other faucets that shoot out water in a specific amount of time, causing wastage.
However, this post on Twitter showed an even better way to prevent the transfer of germs and save water as well.
The photos in the tweet show a washbasin with a faucet that isn’t much different from the one with sensors. However, if you look under the basin, you will see a paddle connecting to a pipe. The pipe is connected to the faucet.
With this paddle, you don’t have to touch the faucet as all you have to do is to step on the paddle. The paddle allows you to control the amount of water. Step on the paddle to release the water and when you take your foot off, the water stops.
And during the COVID-19 outbreak, this faucet should definitely be installed in public places and offices.
