When students have graduated or are finishing college, they tend to look for an internship to gain experience, hence find a better job. In most internships, young people have to overwork and are paid very little, or even nothing at all. However, a startup in Bengaluru, India, is now offering an internship that, assumably, any student would want to get.
The startup in question is Wakefit Innovations Pvt. Ltd., which is recruiting interns for a job where they will sleep for 9 hours over a course of 100 days, and they will be paid Rs 1 lakh. With this sleep internship, the firm will supposedly be able to monitor people’s sleeping patterns.
On the company’s website, the internship is described as just sleeping for as deep as possible, as long as possible, and as competitively as possible. The dresscode when interns come to the office for this job is, of course, pajamas.
In this job, the company will have interns sleep on the mattress it provides for 100 days, 7 nights per week, 9 hours a night, at their own home. Besides, it will monitor their sleeping pattern through a sleep tracker after and before using the mattress provided by the company.
Another strange thing here is that instead of using computers like other interns in regular internships, interns doing this job are not allowed to use laptops while ‘working.’
And what are the requirements of this internship you may wonder? You need to have a passion for sleeping as well as be able to fall asleep really quickly.
So, send your application now, won’t you?
