This 9-Year-Old Indian Kid Developed A Book-Exchanging App For Kids

At the age of nine, this kid from Delhi is not only learning to code, but he's also using that knowledge to create an app for his fellow students.

A boy from Delhi, Vihaan Khera, is only 9 years old. However, he is definitely a kid that has the vision.

He has been receiving programming training, and he made use of it to develop an application that can offer great help to his peers, giving them greater efficiency and more time to do other things.

Khera is going to Kunskapsskolan school, Gurgaon, but the kid has been learning to code through an online platform called White Hat Jr. This program teaches children everything they need to know about coding from a distance. Kids can just stay home and log on to the platform to learn how to code. And our 9-year-old boy from India has taken advantage of the program to develop the Book Barter application specifically for students.

Many kids (or might as well their parents) registered on Book Barter. They will upload a textbook list that they want to buy, borrow or to give away. If someone wants to loan a textbook, it will immediately appear in the app, along with all the necessary details and images of it. Should someone be in need of those books, they can contact the owners privately. If you want to borrow some textbooks, feel free to search for it, then simply choose the one that you want. After that, you can contact the owners directly through the app.

Why did he build this app? It is obvious that kids these days are having way too many textbooks that they don’t really use, and if we keep on printing books each year, it would be a waste of paper. Therefore, letting kids and parents trade books through an application is certainly a great idea. This would lower the cost of textbooks, and it also saves an amount of paper wasted every year just to print unnecessary books.

This application is not only specified for textbooks, but people can also exchange all kinds of books there. Khera mentioned that he can read fast, which made his book supplies keep on being exhausted. Therefore, he thought exchanging books would a brilliant idea. That's how Book Barter was born.
