There are hardly any other structures around the world that resemble the structure of Apple Park. The building is designed by the co-founder of Apple, Steve Jobs, to have a ring shape with four floors. There are many commercial buildings on Earth that were built higher than Apple Park, but the building is still one of the most eye-catching structures. What’s more, according to Santa Clara County’s newest evaluation report, this structure has now been classified as one of the most valuable buildings.
As stated in the list, the recently built headquarters of Apple has a $3.6-billion value. The building's detailed appraisal is what determines its value. However, $3.6 billion is just a part of the amount that has been spent on the building. In fact, the exact number reaches $4.17 billion as it includes furniture, computers, and, of course, the ground maintenance equipment for the surrounding areas.
As the building covers 2.8 million square feet, its high valuation comes with the utilization of glass, the elegant high-end building materials, the sophisticated design, and custom components. The deputy assessor of Santa Clara County, David Ginsborg, stated that “Every component in that building was custom.”
One World Trade Center, the tallest high-rise in America with the height of 1776 feet, is reported by Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to have a value of $3.9 billion. The cost of Olkiluoto 3 nuclear reactor in Finland is over $6 billion, meanwhile, Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands resort is worth $5 billion. Structures that belittle Apple Park’s great value are Saudi Arabia’s Great Mosque of Mecca and Abraj Al-Bait Towers, which cost respectively $100 billion and $15 billion to build. The cost of the US Salesforce building is only half of Apple Park, which equals to $1.7 billion.
