The Brain or The Most Powerful Brain is China’s scientific reality and talent show with the original show coming from Germany. The aim of the show is to select people having exceptional brainpower. Endemol Shine Germany is the company behind the show which has been sold to numerous countries like the U.S., China, Russia, and Europe. Up until now, the show has had four seasons in total with the last final shot in 2017.
The main difference between this show and other talent shows is that it does not focus on the high monetary prizes as there are none in this show. The sole aim is to find contestants who have extraordinary mental skills.
Today, we brought you a list of the hardest challenges in the show.
Solve two Rubik’s Cubes while being blindfolded underwater with one single breath
The challenger is given 60 seconds to study two randomly scrambled Rubik’s cubes. In a 1.5 meter deep, 7 tons clear water tank, the contestant needs to solve these two cubes in one single breathe blindly.

Find the lipstick marks of girl groups’ members
Thirty-one guests from the Japanise girl group NMB48 and the Chinese girl group SNH48 will put on lipsticks while the challenger needs to remember the lipstick mark of each person. After that, the lipsticks marks are arranged in random positions.

The judges will pick out four guests, and the challenger needs to find the lipstick marks of these chosen people.

Identify the sole spot whose color has been changed from two constantly rotating radar pictures
There are two circles with identical colored dots. There are five colors in total: red, blue, green, purple and white. The contestant needs to find the dot whose color has been changed by his opponent.

Each of the areas that the contestant can observe takes up one-eighth of the whole circle.

The radar stops for only four seconds.
Find the snowflakes
Inspired by Princess Elsa who can create snow in the movie Disney Frozen. Natri Polyacrylate is an artificial snow powder. When this substance comes in contact with water, it will create snowflakes.

Two contestants will observe each bottle in 30 bottles and analyze the change in the shape of the snowflake. After that, the judges will swap five bottles with different ones. What the two contestants need to do is find the five original bottles.

Find four cards while being blindfolded in a beehive-shaped maze
A maze is the most common game while beehive is the perfect structure. When these two factors combine, we have the first ever beehive-shaped maze in the history of The Brain. It took 100 hours and 33 builders to build the maze. The 932-square-meter maze consists of 127 hexagons with a height of 2.44 meter.

Each side of the hexagon is 1.53 meter. The maze has 420 identical doors, 420 locks, 840 door handles and countless combinations of paths. The construction of the labyrinth is based on mathematics, physics, maritime studies, and many other fields.

The maze has many confusing paths including dead ends and detours to increase the difficulty.

In the beginning, the contestant starts from the center of the maze. While being blindfolded, he will need to identify the directions. To eliminate the luck factor, the contestant needs to get four cards and finish the challenge.
Identify the Chinese character in virtual reality space
The emergence of Chinese character has helped Chinese civilization circulating for 5,000 years. There are 1,000 characters used in this challenge.

These characters are then randomly mixed. One of the judges then chooses one specific character and deranges it in a virtual reality space.

These pieces of characters are further shuffled by another judge.

From these scattered pieces, the two contestants need to point out which Chinese characters they represent.
