Tesla Removes the Full Self-Driving Option From Model 3

Elon Musk Claimed that the full self-driving capability would be removed from Tesla Model 3. But it might be upgraded to be added to the product later.

The electric car maker is believed to drop the option to pay thousand dollars for a higher feature of its autopilot system which is also known as a full self-driving. It's not only confused people but also made people upset that they had purchased something that is no longer a selectable feature.

Tesla recently announced that they are they came up with a mid-range model 3 and they changed some pricing options. It is a $45,000 model 3 variant, but what confused some people was that the full self-driving feature was gone from model 3 configurators.

There is no official announcement, people asked Elon Musk, CEO of the company about the "Full Self-Driving Capability" removed and he tweeted that the feature was causing too much confusion.

However, the option is unlikely to be disappeared as Musk also tweeted: “available off the menu for a week”. This means you can still call in and get that added for the next week or so after when it comes out.

Elon Musk's Tweet about this

In fact, it's not only confused Tesla's customers but it also made people upset that they had purchased something which is no longer gonna be in the cars.

On the other hand, this seems conflicting because Tesla has previously announced an upcoming new Autopilot 3.0 hardware upgrade. It's likely an upgrade from Autopilot to 2000 frame per second capability.

And when the new version of autopilot came out, Tesla promised to upgrade versions 2.0 and 2.5 for free with ‘Full Self-Driving’ current owners.

In the end, there's nothing really to be worried about if you had purchased the full ‘Full Self-Driving’ because you still get a free of charge for those who ordered ‘Full Self-Driving’ already.

So there's obviously still value,‘Full Self-Driving’ still on the roadmap for Tesla and there was nothing really to be worried or confused about.
