Tesla Model S Caught Fire While Charging

According to an online report in Belgium, at a charging station in Antwerp, a Tesla Model S caught on fire while charging at a Supercharger Station. According to the local news, there was no apparent reason for the accident.

Electrek, via a Dutch’s local news agency, reported the following:

Then, the car fire was suppressed by the fire department with an interesting technique, which is noted as “immersed the car completely into a container with water and remained the vehicle in the water for a night after to make sure that the fire cannot flare up again.” This method specifically helps to solve the potential of reignition in electric car fires. Flame bursting out again has long been an issue with this kind of vehicle.

It wasn’t the first fire incident of its kind happened. Reported in Pittsburgh’s news, there was another Tesla electric model - the Model X - lit up while it was on the way to be taken to the repair garage last month. Moreover, just a few months ago, another Tesla Model S also caught on fire with no apparent reason. There was a video captured the whole thing.

According to a news from BRG, Tesla, after investigating these accidences to find out why these they occurred, issued a report describing the issue as “extraordinarily unusual occurrences.”
