At the CES event each year, several companies have their latest and coolest inventions on display. This is also when you can find the strangest ideas make it to reality.
This year, the star of the show is a talking potato invented by Nicolas Baldeck. However, the inventor preferred the name Smart Potato.
What the young man created is a device that can help us interact with a potato. It comes in the form of an antenna with one end that looks like a blade. For the device to work, the blade end should be inserted into the potato.
The tool can connect to a smartphone via Bluetooth. Once a connection has been established, users can start the conversation by speaking out loud or asking the potato anything.
The device allows users to learn the mood and the health of the potato, even when it is underground. It requires no battery as the language of the potato is deciphered and sent directly via Bluetooth.
This sounds like a big joke and that is exactly what Nicholas is trying to prove at this year’s CES event.
What he was trying to convey is that each year, companies make a large number of exceeding gadgets. It is also a big slap on the face of the CES 2020 expo. If a talking potato could be displayed as the emerging tech section so how many gadgets have been exhibited there each year that will have no use whatsoever?
His talking potato is on Indiegogo for crowdfunding and the biggest joke is that it has raised around $5000.
