Both SpaceX and Boeing have to cope with technical difficulties.

The Demo-2 launch is a component of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. Its precursor, the uncrewed test flight Demo-1, was successfully held in March 2019.

SpaceX and Boeing - the two big names in the aerospace field - have been coping with difficulties during their testing like delays or an enormous explosion. They also share a similar purpose, which is building spacecraft to shuttle astronauts to the space station.

Both Behnken and Hurley have been going through a multitude of tests and rehearsals to ensure that everything will follow the agenda of the launch day.

Additionally, this news is announced after the sacrifice of Falcon 9 rocket during a January 19 in-flight abortion test flight. It was deliberately blown up in a massive fireball.
