The apparel is designed with up to 16 sensors.

The scientists call it Sound Shirt. This apparel is designed with up to 16 sensors to transfer vibrations and music through the wearer’s body. In fact, the major purpose of the Sound Shirt is to capture audio at concerts. The scientists connect it to a computer system via the wireless connectivity in a bid to connect to microphones which are arranged at many different positions surrounding the stage.

These microphones will record the instrument audio and vocals that are then translated into lots of sensations thanks to haptic sensors.

In an interview with Fortune, the Cute Circuit CEO Ryan Genz said:

1

Cute Circuit is the brand to invent the Sound Shirt. Also, it has designed clothing for the famous pop singer Katy Perry.

It is sold for about Rs 2,55,000.

Genz further explained:

1

Aesthetics is another plus point of this high-tech shirt. Wearers won’t have to feel uncomfortable because of a series of complicated wires. Also, the scientists use smart stretchable fabrics as the major material and combine them with microelectronics.

However, this product has a big shortcoming: its price. It is sold for about Rs 2,55,000 ($3,673). Hopefully, in the future, scientists will be able to invent other alternatives at more affordable prices, and deaf people can experience music like any other.
