And neglecting every effort made to correct such a compliment, the boy kept explaining how his friends and he was enjoying great features of Zoom.

For several months, the reputation of Zoom has grown exponentially. From 10 million customers recorded in December 2019, the number has increased from 200 million in March 2020 to 300 million in April. This explosive growth of users has made Zoom become the trendsetter that motivated other companies like Google and Cisco to develop their own video conferencing platform.

Having said that, this trend is not considered as something favorable for these tech giants, especially when during a Meet call with thousands of Googlers, a compliment on Zoom - the company's competitor - was suddenly given by the son of a Google's senior executive.

Zoom was suddenly praised by the son of Google's senior executive.

Accidentally, or intentionally, that question was also put forward in a recent Meet call of thousands of Googlers, including the company’s Chief Business Officer Philipp Schindler. While the Google executive was attempting to come up with a solution for engineers’ concerns, his young son suddenly poked his face into the camera and asked if his daddy was working with his colleagues on Zoom.

And neglecting every effort made to correct that compliment, Schindler Jr. kept explaining how his friends and he was enjoying great features of Zoom.

Obviously, Google kept silent about this "accident".

Anyway, Google Meet is reported to witness a sharp increase in users since January, in particular 25 times growth. 2 million paid customers were signing up the app on a daily basis, Google added.

Recently, an in-depth analysis of the competitions between Zoom and other opponents, including Google, Facebook, and Cisco has been published in the New York Times. Maybe many executives have to wonder why an app that had been seemingly unknown and forgotten could be the most hot-search keyword in such a short time.
