Samsung To Introduce Its Artificial Human At CES 2020

Samsung, the company that has spent whole year research and launch a folding phone, is about to unveil another great invention at CES 2020. What the company’s planning to unveil is an artificial human called NEON, which according to Samsung, is a big step forward from the current virtual assistant Bixby.

This mysterious project has its own website called neon.life but you can’t find much information there. On the website, there is a countdown clock confirming that the event will take place at 3 am (GMT) on January 7.

An article from the Korea Herald predicted that NEON would be a new AI platform of Samsung. It also stated that NEO was developed by the STAR division (STAR is an abbreviation for Samsung Technology and Advanced Research Lab) under the direction of Samsung’s youngest director, Pranav Mistry.

According to a leader in the Korean technology industry, it is now an emerging trend in the field of AI to create AI-like platforms. Global technology giants, including Samsung, are racing to create things that can be called AI assistants but are like real people, surpassing the platforms that run on today's devices.

Whatever Samsung wants NEON to become, it seems like NEON can speak and understand a variety of languages as the photos found on NEON’s Twitter account are in different languages including English, Spanish, and Chinese.

This Twitter also helps to keep NEON a secret and often opens polls for followers to take part in, asking what they think NEON would be. To know what NEON is for, we will have to wait a few days until CES 2020 to find out.
