Just last month, Russian President Putin revealed the nation's program to develop laser weapons. He also said that high-tech weapons will be the key to their army and navy combat potential for the next decades.
More particularly, Russia has begun to test its laser and hypersonic weapons in a real combat situation. This shows us what warfare would be like in the near future.
