This Robot That Brings You Toilet Paper Is One Of The Strangest Techs In 2020

Admit it, pooping is a crucial, inevitable activity of your daily life. And nothing can be more frustrating than you finish pooping just to find out that you’ve run out of toilet paper and you can’t get it yourself. Well, the scenario seems awkward but can totally happen, it actually happens more regularly than you think. What can you do then? Have a robot get the toilet paper for you.

Last Sunday, at CES, Charmin unveiled the Rollbot, a robot that’s not only self-balancing but can also be connected to your phone and deliver new toilet roll to your exact seat. However, so far, we don’t know how it can get a toilet roll from a cupboard, open the bathroom door to get to you as Rollbot doesn’t have any hands or arms.

Rollbot is among the few niche robots that may feature at CES this year, but it’s expected to showcase how small technology be beneficial to our well-being. On stage, the robot was unveiled along with a sensor called SmellSense, which will tell you if you may smell what the previous occupant left behind after dumping their poo. The sensor will inform you with a “good to go” or “no” based on the level of CO2 or H2S that it detects in the air.

Apart from these two devices, there was also the AR V.I.Pee, which is expected to upgrade the bathroom visit experience in the future. It comes with an Oculus Rift S VR headset to let users see what’s happening at an event that they might be missing as they’re in the bathroom. With this device, users will have the experience as they were sitting at the front row of a concert as they pee.

This product, however, won’t be available in 2020, but would rather demonstrate how the toilet experience can likely be disrupted in the comping years. Excited everyone?
