Back in 2017, in the US, people caught on camera a really strange scene. A security robot at GMMB, political communication and advertising firm in Washington DC committed suicide by throwing itself into a water fountain. The robot made this decision after days of living in inferiority, loneliness, and depression.
Drone, the name of the robot, after receiving upgrades on its intelligence, was more aware of life. One day, it realized the harsh truth that life isn’t like a dream.
The people at GMMB shared that, at first, Drone was extremely optimistic, sociable with people, and even turned on music to listen while working.
However, that didn’t last long, the robot was soon fed up with its boring work. Not only that, Drone realized his imperfect appearance. He looked nothing like the robot that can shoot like the smart robot in the Terminator series.
Being stuck for too long, Drone decided to jump into the water to commit suicide. The robot’s small funeral took place with so many emotions. Its colleagues visited, sending condolences. Some also brought photos that they took with Drone.

Drone was a Knightscope K5 and worked as a security guard at GMMB. These robots come equipped with a camera to offer a more physical presence rather than being just a regular security camera.
They are also designed to be able to move autonomously. This is probably why the robot at GMMB ended up falling face down in a fountain.
