According to the Rajya Sabha, the Tri-Netra technology will be introduced when its ability to detect obstructions during foggy weather is fully developed.
In the Question Hour, Piyush Goyal, the Railway Minister, said to members that Tri-Netra technology is another endeavor made by the Railways with the aim of improving the modern tech.
He said that the technology was under trials and the Tri-Netra would make use of ultrasonic waves to identify any obstacles on the tracks. However, it would have to go through lots of tests before making it to reality.
Moreover, the minister also told members that there were small RO water plants, or Reverse Osmosis water plants being set up at a few stations by Railways, which would provide people with drinking water.
