These gaming socks are available at Australian and European markets at the price of $100 (Rs. 7,142)

PUMA recently launched a new type of shoes under the name gaming socks. According to what the company wrote on its website, this model is designed to cater to the needs of console gamers. However, as PUMA also mentions in-arena, we have reason to believe that its target is professional esports athletes.

The company said that these shoes are called gaming socks because they can fit just like socks do.

PUMA might have a fancy idea with this model but sock-like shoes are not something new in the industry. They have an edge of comfort over gym shoes or traditional sneakers. These models aim at indoors or casual walking with an emphasis on breathability.

These gaming socks are part of PUMA’s new plan called Active Gaming Footwear, which in essence, are another kind of fabric shoes. According to the company, they are made for indoor use and arena. The company also has fancy names for these shoes’ highlight features called Attack, Seek, and Cruise/Defense. The rubber sole offers grip, just like those of shoes do.

The question most users have is how exactly these gaming socks can improve gaming performance. For one thing, they make sitting at the desk for hours easier to bear. However, if gamers are willing to spend time researching, they can also find several loafers and sneakers with similar properties. These types of sock-like shoes have been criticized a lot for being too expensive.

So it is still controversial whether PUMA’s offers are worth a purchase. For now, these gaming socks are available at Australian and European markets at the price of $100. So far, PUMA has not said anything about if it plans to launch this model in other markets.
