India has officially banned PUBG, along with 117 other apps in a new government order.

In July, following the deadly border clash between the two countries, India outlawed 59 Chinese apps, with WeChat and TikTok among the ones being axed.

The list of victims, apart from PUBG and its lite version, includes Dual Space, LivU, Xiaomi-owned ShareSave, and VPN for Alipay, TikTok, and Sina News.

These apps are still available on Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store but with this ban, they will soon be removed.

According to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India, these Chinese apps steal and send users’ data to servers outside of India. In a statement, the Ministry said banning them was to protect the country’s sovereignty

Many of these apps were developed by iJoySoft Dev.

Before being banned, PUBG was one of the most-loved gaming apps in India with 50 million active users and more than 175 million installs.
