On August 29, Bang Bros, a giant porn production firm, purchased PornWikiLeaks - a malicious wiki forum. The company closed the doxing website down promptly, cleansing it and scorched every single hard drive in which the illegal information was stored.
For those who are unknown, PornWikiLeaks was a website where personal information of more than 15,000 porn performers was revealed illegally, according to Motherboard. It had been received criticism from several actors and actress in the pornographic industry for infringing the privacy by revealing their real names, parent names, telephone numbers, address, pictures of their families, etc. The doxed data here was used to criticize and harass others seriously.
The Internet would be undeniably better and safer when those harassers are disarmed. However, this sudden acquisition and disappearance of Bang Bros remind others that a website can be erased immediately at any time.
