Although Hugh Hefner died one year ago, the Playboy founder has still made us surprised by what he left. It is not an exaggeration to say that his legacy is entirely different to any other celebrities in the world and some have been sold by Julien's Auctions from November 20 to December 01, including a mysterious onyx ring.

The onyx ring was made of 14-carat gold and kept secrets that could cause some women blushed. Under the onyx part of this ring is a compartment where Hugh Hefner used to store a blue Viagra pill.

In the beginning, the auction organizer had planned to sell it for Rs 41,862 – Rs 55,816; however, its final price touched up to Rs 15,62,848. That means the actual cost is 37 times higher than the expected one.

Also appearing in the auction, one another belonging of the Playboy founder, a made-to-order red smoking jacket was sold for Rs 17,86,112. Besides, he left a leather-bound script composed for the Saturday Night Live 1977 show which, after that, belonged to the famous comedian Jim Belushi. Its price was Rs 2,18,031. If you haven’t known it yet, Jim Belushi participated in the Saturday Night Live 1977 show.

However, all of the three abovementioned relics are not the ones sold for the highest price. It was a typewriter at Rs 1,13,37,625. With this typewriter, the Playboy founder created the first copy for the magazine that has been famous for over 60 years. The copy of the issue which featured Marilyn Monroe – both the fashion icon and sex symbol fetched Rs 21,80,312.

Apart from these items, there are some made-in-Hefner personal belongings also available in the auction like a white captain hat (Rs 13,39,584), a full set of Playboy’s bound volumes during the period 1953-2013 (Rs 53,58,336), and the letter written by the playboy bunny Gloria Steinem for Show magazine in 1962 (Rs 15,62,848).

The amount gathered in the auction will be moved to Hefner’s foundation established in 1964. This foundation aims to support civil liberties, like marijuana legalization for medical purposes or struggle for LGBT rights.
