Amazon CEO's Ex-Wife Mackenzie Bezos Claims To Donate Half Of Her $36 Billion To This Charity

At the time Mackenzie Bezos becomes a member of the Giving Pledge, her net worth is estimated at around $36.6 billion. She has decided to donate half of her assets to this charity.

After divorcing with Jeff Bezos, the CEO and founder of the US tech company Amazon, Mackenzie Bezos becomes the third richest woman in the whole world and holds the 22nd position on the list of Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Within a few of months after the divorce, Bezos’ ex-wife has taken part in the Giving Pledge, a charitable organization that invites the wealthiest people in the world to participate and suggest they contribute a majority of their assets.

Originating from the initial ideas of Bill and Melinda Gate and their best friend Warren Buffet, the first time the Giving Pledge was introduced to the world was 2010. Until now, the number of the organization’s signatories hits 204, including the richest families and individuals. At the time Mackenzie becomes a member of the Giving Pledge, her net worth is estimated at around $36.6 billion. She has decided to donate half of her assets to this charity.

Jeff Bezos’s ex-wife wrote a letter to announce her decision and said she had a “disproportionate amount of money to share.”

In some recent days, this charity has welcomed 19 new signatories including Mackenzie Bezos. Some of the other celebrities are Brian Acton from WhatsApp, Brian Armstrong from Coinbase, and Paul Sciarra from Pinterest.
