The Chinese billionaire Jack Ma, also known as the founder of Alibaba Group, has come under fire after his statement at a mass wedding on May 10. He advised his employees to have as much sex as the working time per week in his “996” philosophy.

In recent days, the billionaire has introduced a “996” philosophy in which tech employees in China are required to work from 9 am to 9 pm in 6 days week. It comes as no surprise when all of them voiced objections to this culture. In April 2019, Jack Ma referred to it as a “huge blessing” for young employees.

At the mass wedding on May 10, Jack Ma did a pun when saying to the 102 couples: “At work, we emphasize the spirit of 996. In life, we should follow 669.”

He added, "What is 669? Six days, six times, with duration being the key." The word for ‘long’ in Chinese is pronounced similar to the word ‘nine.’ According to a report from Daily Mail, on Weibo page of Alibaba, the quote was given with a winking emoji.

Of course, his speech got a lot of criticism on the Internet. As picked up by Technode, a Weibo user commented, "996 during the day, 669 during the night, I guess after less than a month I might have to stay in the ICU forever."

Another user said, “Making a lewd joke in public and notoriously promoting it - are you being responsible to minors? Thumbs down this time.”

Or “Who on earth would have the energy to 669 at home after 996 during work?”

Or “Is this funny? Not one bit.”

As per the Alibaba chairman, Jack Ma urged these 102 couples to have babies.

He further said,
