ISRO’s Chandrayaan mission may be the best example of how India doesn’t give up on the dream to get into space. And while the Chandrayaan 2 mission might fail, the space agency did everything to get in contact with Vikram lander for days after it got to the Moon.
That was probably a failed mission, but the officials refuse to turn their backs on the spirit as they are now working on the Chandrayaan 3.
Yes, the Indian Space Research Organization began its work on a new attempt at the project, which is set to finish by November 2020.
According to reports, the Indian space agency has formed an overall panel including three sub-panels responsible for the project as well as held high-level meetings last month. Indians went online to praise the announcement.
In addition, the new mission may carry just a rover and a lander because those of the Chandrayaan 2 are still operating well. One of the most important things to do for the new mission is strengthening the lander’s legs so it can land with a high velocity with no damages.
K Sivan, the space agency’s chief said earlier this month that ISRO will make the best out of its knowledge, experience, as well as technical resources to prepare for the next mission and will manage a soft landing in the near future. In terms of technology, they failed to get a soft landing, he admitted while claiming that the systems overall operated well until 300 meters above the lunar surface. He concluded by saying there is invaluable data to help them set things right this time.
On Tuesday, a meeting was held for reviewing the Chandrayaan 3’s configuration. Additionally, they have considered suggestions from various panels regarding guidance, engineering, sensors, propulsion, navigation, along with other aspects.
Let’s once again raise our hope for our Indian space dream!
