Since the country has limited available COVID-19 test centers and the number of people who test positive with COVID19 keeps hiking, it is important that people can find support in other ways.
Practo, an online medical platform, claims that it can take test booking requirements. The platform has partnered with Thyrocare to carrey out COVID-19 detection tests. The service is only availbale for some certain parts of the country.
The company has received the approvals from the Indian government as well as the Indian Council of Medical Research to conduct these tests. The details of Practo’s online test support can be found on the company’s blog.
Starting from March 28, Mumbai and Pune residents can book for the test. The service will be expanded to other areas in the country soon. The customer will have to take with them a photo ID card, a valid doctor’s presciption as well as duty filled Test Requisition Form with the physician’s signature.
To make sure that anyone having the disease’s symptoms can be tested, the Indian government is working to expand the list of centers and labs.
The test will reportedly cost Rs 4,500 which is the country’s fixed price for COVID19 tests. Practo is very transparent about the test process. And it will follow the required hygiene practices so that these tests are conducted in a safe manner.
I2H’s certified phlebotomists will be in charge of going to the patients’ homes and directly collect the samples. While taking the swabs, the phlebotomists will follow the ICMR guidelines.
24 to 48 hours after the sample is collected, the patient can access their report on Practo website. However, the company adds that the report might be shared with the authorized government bodies, according to the government guidelines.
As India has more and more COVID-19 cases, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put the whole country under lockdown. Citizens are required to stay inside their houses, practicing social distancing.
