India Will Integrate AI And Robotics To Strengthen Its Army

Within its plan to improve the strength of its warfare fleet, India has made integrated battle groups, including on-demand energy weapons, micro-satellites, AI, and robotics to conduct tasks, aiming at boosting its strategy in warfighting.

Currently, India is having border issues with its neighboring countries like Pakistan and China, which has put it in the situation of “No War, No Peace.” According to the Army’s new doctrine of Land warfare in 2018, if other parties make adversarial attempts to change its status quo, the country with its 1.3 million armies will take revenge.

As reported by the Times of India, the country’s army will take steps to address the intentional transgressions along the 4,057-kilometer long Line of Actual Control with its neighbor China for its own benefit. The country says it will limit the escalation to the minimum, following the current agreements and rules. However, preparing for escalation is not unnecessary.

It was also outlined in the doctrine how the actions will take place. Accordingly, all traditional wars will include a series of battle, involving ones on the sea, air, and land.

Also, all battalions will consist of several kinds of soldiers, namely air defense, armored artillery, signals, and engineers, along with attack helicopters. They will fight under major generals’ command.

According to a senior officer, the Integrated Battle Groups will be flexible, highly mobile, and self-contained. Even more, he said the IBGs were prepared to respond to intentional transgressing actions with punishments, the surgical strikes in 2016 for example. In addition, he said it was necessary that the army prepared itself for any escalation.

The document on this combination of human and machine says that the key to India’s success in the military in the future lies in the effective integration of human soldiers, artificial intelligence, and robotic technology to implement in the warfighting systems which take advantage of the current capabilities.
