On August 8, BeAble Health, an incubated startup from the Center for Healthcare Entrepreneurship (CfHE) at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad launched “Arm Able” which is a rehabilitative device for interactive arm training.
The product is designed for stroke victims’ neuro-rehabilitation as well as upper limb motor deficit victims’ motor rehabilitation. These conditions can happen due to several reasons ranging from cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis to fracture or frozen.
It was Habib Ali, a roboticist and biomedical engineer and a CfHE fellow, who founded BeAble. The product was launched during the graduation of CfHE’s third batch of fellows, which included eight fellows. From all three batches, 16 fellows have successfully graduated.
CfHE offers a Fellowship course in Healthcare Entrepreneurship which, through a fast-paced and structured one-year curriculum, centers biodesign innovation.
The fellows who register for this program will be thoroughly engrossed in a clinical environment for unmet needs identification. They will get to undergo training in business plan development, in needs analysis as well as solutions.
Prof Renu John, co-head of IIT Hyderabad CfHE and head of IIT Hyderabad Department of Biomedical Engineering, said about the program:
Habib Ali also said that BeAble with design and technology will be devoted to more qualified health and live.
