A French engineer named Geoffroy de Reynal has created 'Igloo' – a special shelter that protects homeless people from rain and cold. It is made of flexible and light polyethylene foam. In order to keep the heat, the igloo is completely covered in an aluminum foil. The special shelter has a length of 6.5 feet and a width of 4 feet. Thanks to the polyethylene material, it is able to resistant to water and protects outcasts from severe weather.

The igloo can be created within a few minutes and it is unnecessary to use additional equipment or tools. The sheets are linked by interlocking joints along with some clamps for a snug and even fit.
Geoffroy Reynal was a quality manager on some wind construction sites outside France. When returning back, he saw homeless people wandering on the streets.
In a talk with Global Citizen, he said:

He used his money to make the igloo on Geoffroy’s Bordeaux-located porch. By April 2017, he finally finished his prototype. Geoffroy tested the shelter in his friend’s cold chamber to determine whether it could work as he expected.
After ensuring that the invention was able to keep him stay cozy and warm, he crowdfunded online. Finally, he received up to $20,000. With the money, he built 10 Igloos in Paris as well as Bordeaux.
This outstanding engineer doesn’t stop here. He is creating larger igloos that can hold bigger families. Besides, he wishes to bring his products to other countries such as the US and Poland, where homeless people are also living in the cold streets.
India is not an exception as we can easily see lots of homeless people wander on the pavements and avenues, and face the intense climate. Such projects like Igloo would help them to have cozy accommodation.
