If you are the type of person who doesn’t like the hot weather, an air conditioner at home or in the office might help. But what if you are out and around with no air conditioner? This portable AC is just what you need.
The Reon Pocket is the latest invention from Sony which is here to to help you deal with the heat, which due to pollution as well as global warming, might last longer. It’s more than just a portable AC as you can wear Reon Pocket inside your clothes.

The device’s size and thickness are about the same as a smartphone. You can put it inside a pocket of the special shirt that comes with the device. Maybe in the future, Sony might make it possible to wear it around your neck. Reon Pocket is a cooling device that can be synced with your smartphone and lets you control your clothes’ temperature.
The device has a cooling element called Peltier which is commonly used in wine coolers and cars since it requires less energy than your normal large home AC.
Of course, to use this device, you will need to get a custom undershirt which comes in size S, M, and L. However, the shirt is for men only.

The promotional material stated that, for one use, the Reon Pocket can run for 15 minutes. You may ask why the running time is so short. That is because the device is not for use all day, but rather for environments such as outdoors, public transport, etc.
Reon pocket uses a lithium-ion battery. So a full charge can last you about two days. The device can now only be found in Japan. The price of one Reon Pocket and one undershirt is Rs 9,000. Or you can get one Reon Pocket with five undershirts for 12,000. Depends on how well the consumers respond to this device, perhaps Sony will have plans to expand it to other markets as well.
