According to the latest news, the UK military has made some tests about the application of advanced robots and flying drones in the combat zone.
The scale of these tests includes more than 70 various technological examples that British troops want to deploy in the military. They are unmanned vehicles, flying drones to watch enemies and many other weapons.
The UK military named these tests the Autonomous Warrior experiment which was conducted in the fields of Salisbury Plain. This place was chosen to ensure the safety for civilians.
The Autonomous Warrior experiment will take place in four weeks since this Monday. As we can easily see, the high-tech products will help the UK military to limit the direct participation of its human soldiers and therefore, it can reduce the number of the wounded or died soldiers in the real combats.
When the experiment finishes, the most optimal ground and aerial vehicles will be applied in the large-scale battle-group experiment that will be simulated the real situations and environments.
If you are thinking that human soldiers will be completely replaced by these autonomous tanks, drones, or robot, it may come to reality but it’s not for now. We may have to wait for more long time to develop AI navigation inside military weapons that can do such things. At least, at the present time, AI can bring more safety to our soldiers.
It is very clear that to maintain an army, it can’t lack the factors like ammunition, medical or food. Now, with the support of supply convoys based on the hi-tech products, the UK military will release its human labor force as well as save its soldiers in the combats. This scenario is especially exact when it comes to the “last mile” – the most perilous area in which human soldiers can lose their lives anytime.
