A Hacker Sells Tool That Can Break Into Any Luxury Car For 7 Lakhs

The hacker in this story seemingly wants to keep his hands clean by just selling the tool but not hijacking any lavish car.

We might think that high-end stuff often falls prey to prying eyes but it seems hard to hijack the device. However, a hacker recently has created a device to overcome the wireless key fob system on luxury cars to get access to it easily.

A “keyless repeater” tool costs around Rs. 7 lakhs.

The hacker in the story, “EvanConnect”, stared selling the device developed by him for around $9,000 (appx. Rs 7 lakhs). Dubbed as a “keyless repeater”, this actually helps you unlock any car on the road in a matter of seconds. EvanConnect even posted a video to demonstrate how it will be used in an example situation.

According to Daily Mail, the man appeared in the video with this “keyless repeater” with an antenna and approached an unattended car. By using only this handheld device, he was able to unlock the side door and turned on the engine. In fact, this car belongs to one of his friends and he also admitted that nothing is guaranteed if the customers choose to make use of the device.

It then activated the engine of the car in a matter of seconds.

In an interview, EvanConnect claimed that this device can break such privacy layers of most luxury cars, excluding vehicles that use frequencies from 22 to 40 kHz, such as Rolls Royce, Bentley, Porsche, Audi, and Mercedes models released after 2014. Notwithstanding, the man disclosed that an upgraded version would successfully outplay these models.

The man seemingly wants to keep his hands clean by just selling the tool but not hijacking any lavish car.
