The Indian cricket team might have suffered misfortune in its World Cup journey after being defeated by England. However, two of the world’s most famous Indians have met each other to show their support for the Indian team. A tweet from BCCI suggested that Google CEO Sundar Pichai and famous international cricketer Sachin Tendulkar have met each other and snapped a picture together.
Pichai is a big fan of cricket. Right before the World Cup started, he was asked to make a prediction on who will be in the final. He had picked England and India and the two teams met at a group stages’ match. Besides these two teams, he showed great interest in New Zealand and Australia teams.
Back in 2018, Pichai also sent a tweet to Virat Kohli an inning that he played at the Indian Premier League.
However, Pichai and Google are not the only ones demonstrating their enthusiasm for the cricket World Cup. Just last week, Google’s rival, Apple, launched the first-ever campaign on cricket in India.
The company released a TV ad as well as outdoor campaigns in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, and some other cities. The commercial was shown on TV during the match between India and West Indies. Meanwhile, the billboards have been put up in several cities.
The new TV ad shows the devotion of Indians to the sport and cricket moments that happens every day in different parts of the country. There is no actor and the ad was shot with an iPhone XS. The featuring song is “I don’t like cricket, I love it” from Bob Marley.
