Game of Thrones season 8 premiere was illegally downloaded 55 million times on its 1st day.
The eighth season of the most awaited series of Game of Thrones was released on Sunday evening in the United States. And it's no surprise that many people are willing to violate copyright to enjoy this movie soon.
Although the episode 1 of Game of Thrones new season has garnered the highest number of viewers so far, it still has a large number of viewers watching illegally.

The latest episode of Game of Thrones has earned more than 17, 4 million viewers on all HBO platforms. However, this number does not include the number of viewers in other platforms and services, such as India's Hotstar. However, that is not a serious problem compared to the first episode that was illegally copied 55 million times in just 24 hours since its launch, according to the analytics company MUSO.
Of which 76.6% came from illegal streaming services, 12.2% came from downloads and about 10.8% came from public torrents and 0.5% came from private torrent. In addition to the enormous number of GoT viewers, the location where most people violate copyright infringement is astounding.
According to the data, about 10 million illegal views within the first day came from India. If HBO is not in your DTH package or cable package, you are unable to watch Game of Thrones here. Of course, Premium users can enjoy this series on this platform, but most Indians only use a 1-month free trial version.

Standing behind India is China with 5 million illegal views. Movies or TV shows that want to be screened in China must go through rigorous censorship; therefore, even when Game of Thrones is approved, it takes a lot of time for people to watch the series. That's not only true to many countries that don't support HBO because even the United States is also on the top of the list with 4 million illegal views. That means there are still a lot of Americans who don't want to pay for Netflix or HBO Go or Amazon Prime Video.
These people should expect that they won't have to stick to malware in the way they watch the movie and enjoy the final part of the Game of Thrones.
