The study was conducted by a former NASA scientist who specializes in sunlight research called Robert Soler. He focused on studying the effects of sunlight on the human body. Soler participated in designing the light system for the ISS or International Space Station, enabling astronauts to work in the absence of light in outer space.
After leaving NASA, Soler is currently one of BIOS Lighting's founders. This is a start-up company that finds solutions to help people improve their health through light.

Sunlight takes an important part in managing the biological rhythm of the human body. Simply put, there will be a certain clock inside our body, which allows us to create daily routines and activities. Every time we see a sunbeam, our body is signalled that it is time to wake up, and vice versa.
Electricity is growing and everywhere, so our bodies are also affected somewhat when exposed to artificial light. Our circadian rhythms can be affected and disturbed.
Soler told The San Diego Union-Tribune that even day or night, humans now live with a constant sunset. Researchers have shown that human light creates significant negative effects on our lives, including various diseases such as diabetes or depression.

The BIOS developed an artificial light that closely resembles sunlight. It includes part of the spectrum that the company called "sky blue frequency". This light is able to inform our eyes that it is daytime. However, many companies were not interested in using this kind of light because it created a strange blue light.
Therefore, the BIOS invented a type of LED that does not have a strange blue glow but still includes blue frequency. The Union-Tribune has said that the company has now sold this device to many offices and schools. And in the near future, these special lights will reach consumers in many different shapes and styles. This brings significant change to human health and facilitates those who want to protect their health easier.
